Albuquerque’s Carolyn Flynn will be reading from her recently published and prize-winning fiction at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 3 at Bookworks, 4022 Rio Grande NW.

Among the works Flynn will be reading from are “Pretend,” winner of the 2014 Rick Bass/Montana Prize for Fiction, published in The Whitefish Review; “Resurrection,” an excerpt from Flynn’s memoir “Straight to Heaven,” which was published in Fourth Genre last January; and “Pound of Flesh,” published in The Tampa Review.

She will also read an excerpt from the work of Rick Bass, Flynn’s writing mentor.

Flynn is the Albuquerque Journal’s assistant features/special sections editor and had been the editor of the Journal’s Sage magazine.
