Amy Goodman – author, syndicated columnist and host of the news program “Democracy Now!” – will give a talk at 7 p.m. Friday, March 14 at the Lensic Performing Arts Center, 211 W. San Francisco St., Santa Fe.

Goodman’s talk is a benefit for KNME-TV, and radio stations KUNM-FM and KSFR-FM.

Goodman will also autograph copies of her book, “The Silenced Majority: Stories of Uprisings, Occupations, Resistance and Hope,” which will be on sale in the Lensic lobby after her talk.

“Democracy Now!” is an independent, award-winning news program airing on more than 1,100 TV and radio stations worldwide. It airs on New Mexico PBS (Channel 9.1) at 5 p.m. Monday–Friday; on KUNM-FM at 4 p.m. Monday-Friday and on KSFR-FM twice a day Monday-Friday – at 6 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Goodman’s weekly newspaper column, which is produced as an audio podcast, was recognized with the James Aronson Award for Social Justice Reporting. Her reporting has also earned her the coveted George Polk Award, the Robert F. Kennedy Prize for International Reporting and the Alfred I. duPont-Columbia Award.
